• Explore all relevant detail needed to provide solutions to tasks
• To ask relevant questions
• To prioritize
• To think in a systematic, step-wise manner whilst simultaneously applying rules
• To plan, by structuring information into meaningful wholes
• To implement solutions
• To deal with new information by integrating it into existing mental frameworks
• To continuously evaluate and monitor own thinking processes
